Vietnam, officially called as the Socialist Republic of Vietnam is the 8th most populous Asian country. It is the easternmost country in Southeast Asia. The political structure of Vietnam is represented by a single party republic framework, according to which, the president is the head of the state and the prime minister is the head of the government.

As per the Constitution of Vietnam, the National Assembly is the representative of the people at the highest level. The National Assembly has the power to make new laws and modify the existing laws in the constitution. their responsibility is to frame rules and regulations for the benefit & development of the country.
The National Assembly defines the roles of the Council of State, Council of Ministers, People’s Council and the Supreme People’s Court.
President of Vietnam (Exercising Executive powers)
The president acts as the head of the state in the Vietnam political hierarchy. The president appoints the prime minister, vice presidents and other ministers by associating with the National Assembly. The president acts as the Chairman of the Defense and Security Council and also as the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Vietnam.
The tenure of the President is five years.The President safeguards the territorial integrity of the country. The president also deals with various important international activities such as appointing foreign ambassadors, negotiating and signing various international agreements on behalf of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Vice President of Vietnam
The Vice President is the second top position in the Vietnam political hierarchy. As per the constitution of Vietnam, the Vice President is appointed by the National Assembly of Vietnam. The Vice President assists the President in various of his or her duties.
Prime Minister of Vietnam
The Prime Minister is officially being called as the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic. S/he is the head of the government of Vietnam. The Prime Minister oversees the functions of the National Assembly. S/he serves as the Deputy Chairman of the Defense and Security Council.
Among other functions, the Prime Minister supervises the implementation of the formal orders given by the President, the National Assembly and the Standing Committee. S/he oversees the work of the People Council’s at all levels and chairs the meeting of the Cabinet and appoints various deputy ministers.
The tenure of a Prime Minister is five years.
Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam
The Deputy Prime Minister is also known as the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers. The Deputy assists the Prime Minister in handling various internal policies of the country. As Vietnam is a one party state, all the deputy prime ministers were members of the party at the time of holding the office.
